You have very good chances to get higher level through departmental examinations. After joining as GDS you can write departmental exam for MTS, after selected as MTS you can write Postal Assistant departmental exam after 3 years as MTS. Once you become PA you can write IPO after 5 years working as PA. After that you can write departmental examination for ASP cadres.

Hi sir. Abhilash here from Karnataka. I have a doubt that if we selected as BPM, must we stay in that village where we got appointed and also should keep the amount of 10000 RS bond. And what is the typical office hours, not the duration. Usual starting time.

      Hello Abhilash,
As per department rules GDS BPM has to stay in the village where Branch Post Office is located. The bond amount is Rs.10000, but you has to pay Rs.2500(around) you need not pay whole Rs.10000 bond amount. Working hour is based on the working hours of Sub Post Office, normally branch offices will start work from 9 A.M to 10 A.M.
